Casey Morrow, CNM, APRN

Owner of Safe Haven Midwifery

I strongly believe every woman should give birth where she feels the most comfortable, secure, and safe.

Hello! My name is Casey, and I’m honored you are considering home birth! My midwifery journey began early as I attended prenatal visits during my mother’s pregnancies and witnessed home births of my five siblings. I was blessed to grow up knowing that pregnancy and birth should be viewed as normal life events. I saw that women could embrace the work of birth with the loving and attentive support of a midwife, partner, and the sacred support of other women in the safety of her own home. By age 13, I knew midwifery was calling me.

I began with my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2010 where I worked briefly in medical-surgical nursing before transitioning to labor and delivery. I continued gaining nursing experience until returning to graduate school in 2015 and graduating with my Master’s of Science in Midwifery in 2017. I have since worked in a growing freestanding birth center and then a busy OB/GYN practice and hospital collaborating with physicians on low and high risk pregnancies.

I strongly believe every woman should give birth where she feels the most comfortable, secure, and safe. For many women, leaving the peace of their home in active labor interrupts the natural flow of labor hormones where they are then surrounded by strangers and further interruptions.

I believe each pregnancy and birth is a sacred journey for the entire family. I seek to honor that by encouraging you to embrace the instinctual process and avoid intervening unless requested or necessary. You are free to labor and give birth on land or in the water and whatever positions your body chooses. I encourage your partner to participate in prenatal appointments and prepare for labor with you. This is usually the person that loves and knows you more than anyone else, and I want their input throughout our relationship! After delivery, baby remains on your chest until you are both ready for the newborn exam.

With home birth, you get routine prenatal care with informed and joint decision making throughout your pregnancy. I will order labs, ultrasounds, and medication as needed. I will come to your home and provide labor support and monitor your and baby’s well being. I carry supplies including oxygen, emergency medications, and suture equipment.

Thank you for considering me to walk alongside your home birth!
